Every day, there are kids across Canada who are depressed, sad, angry and hurting. Kids in every city in every province across the country are feeling this way because of bullying, social pressure, family problems and their own mental health. These kids need to be able to talk to someone when they’re feeling that way, because we all know there’s nothing good about bottling up your feelings & keeping things to yourself. This especially rings true for kids.
Kids need to talk. They need to have someone to talk to. Anytime, anywhere.
Walk So Kids Can Talk is an annual event to support the Kids Help Phone. This walk is Canada’s largest in support of child and youth mental health and well-being. Funds raised by Walk participants go to help kids in over 2,500 communities across the country. Every day, Kids Help Phone’s professional counselors hear from kids who are experiencing the cruelty of bullying, the loneliness of depression, the paralyzing fear of anxiety, or are feeling the pressures to succeed, compete, or conform.
This year is the 11th year for the Walk So Kids Can Talk Event – and Starfish Enterprise Media is proud to be involved with our local walk for the 3rd year running (or should we say, “walking”). There are 40 walk sites across the country and we encourage everyone to take a moment and check out their local walk site, register to walk (it’s free!) and help to raise some of the $2.5 million needed to keep this incredible service going for kids in our community.
On Sunday May 6th, Walk So Kids Can Talk. It’s not rocket science.
